VISUALS FOR DELIRIYUM
In his self-choreographed work, choreographer and modern dance artist Canberk Yıldız brings to the stage a metaphorical depiction of the world and his living environment as a psychiatric hospital. Inspired by the term “Deliriyum”—used in contemporary medicine to describe a spectrum ranging from confusion to schizophrenia—Yıldız presents psychological behaviors and traumas such as anxiety, addiction, and eating disorders, which are increasingly normalized by modern individuals yet cause deep harm to society.
The piece distributes 13 distinct states of "Deliriyum" among 13 dancers, creating a space for research and artistic exploration on stage. Through the language of dance, the work narrates the transformation of today’s “thinking modern” human, Homo Sapiens, into a new form of being.
